By providing multilingual services, Centre Maranata ensures that all

families can communicate effectively and receive the support they need. The organization offers services in English, French, and Arabic, making its programs accessible to a diverse range of Black immigrant families, including francophone and Arabic-speaking newcomers, so that everyone can feel welcomed, understood, and supported.

Uplift Families: Parenting Peer Support Circle

Welcoming Space: Centre Maranata’s Uplift Families program offers a supportive environment for parents and caregivers, especially newcomers and immigrants, to connect, learn, and grow together.
Weekly Meetings: Meetings are held every Thursday, both in person and online, to provide flexibility and accessibility.
Safe and Inclusive Environment: A space to share experiences, build parenting skills, and strengthen family and community ties.
Support Activities: Includes peer-led sharing circles, expert workshops, mentorship opportunities, and access to local resources.
Empowerment Focus: Helps parents navigate the joys and challenges of raising children with confidence and support.
Childcare Provided: Free childcare is available for in-person participants.
Community Building: Join a community rooted in empathy, empowerment, and cultural pride.

Pathways to Protection: Online Peer Support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Free Weekly Support: Pathways to Protection is a free, weekly online peer support group hosted by Centre Maranata for refugees and asylum seekers across Canada.
Virtual Access: Sessions are delivered via Zoom in English and French, making them accessible and bilingual.
Safe and Confidential Space: Offers a culturally sensitive environment for individuals navigating the refugee claim process.
Supportive Services: Provides emotional support, practical guidance on immigration and settlement topics, and access to trusted referrals for legal aid, housing, healthcare, and more.
Peer and Professional Support: Participants benefit from peer mentorship, professional facilitation, and workshops focused on building resilience and self-advocacy skills.
Support Throughout the Journey: Designed for individuals awaiting hearings, transitioning between shelters, or seeking reliable information.
Weekly Zoom Sessions: Held weekly via Zoom. Registration is required.
